Policy.

Plain terms for a sitting, a gathering, and the piece you leave with.

1. 01

   Appointments

   Sittings are by appointment. Request a time through the booking form, email, or phone. Please arrive on time — there is a ten-minute grace period before a sitting may be canceled or moved, depending on availability.

2. 02

   Age

   Permanent jewelry is for guests 15 and older. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or legal guardian.

3. 03

   Health and safety

   The weld is a brief pulse of light. It is quick, and you will not feel anything — but you must remain still while it happens.

   • Melinda cannot weld for anyone with a pacemaker, or a medical condition that may be affected by the welding process.
   • Please share any metal allergies or sensitivities before a chain is chosen.

4. 04

   The piece

   Chains are chosen and fitted in person. Metals are gold filled and sterling silver. You approve the chain and the fit before the weld is closed. Once it is closed, the sale is final — no refunds or exchanges.

   • A change after welding means cutting the chain and welding it again, which may include a fee.
   • If a weld fails within seven days, Melinda will re-weld it at no cost. After seven days, a repair or re-weld may include a fee.
   • If you need a piece off for a procedure or a change of mind, she can remove it and re-weld later for a fee.
   • Custom or special requests may take extra time.

5. 05

   Payment

   Full payment is due at the sitting. Cash, cards, and digital payments are welcome.

6. 06

   Deposits, cancellations, and no-shows

   Deposits are required for group events, not for single appointments. Event deposits are non-refundable and go toward your total.

   • For events, cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead and the deposit can transfer to a new time.
   • A no-show or a late cancellation on an event forfeits the deposit.
   • If you cannot keep a single sitting, please let Melinda know so the time can go to someone else.

7. 07

   Events and gatherings

   Private parties, bridal events, and pop-ups are welcome in Northern New Jersey and nearby. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold the date and goes toward your total. Travel may include a fee, depending on distance.

   • Events have a minimum of 5 purchases.
   • Every purchase at an event must be a bracelet or longer — a bracelet, anklet, necklace, or hand chain.
   • When five or more qualifying pieces are purchased, the host receives 15% off.
   • When ten or more qualifying pieces are purchased, the host receives a free bracelet or anklet.

8. 08

   Photographs

   Melinda may take photos or video during a sitting for her work. If you would rather not be in a picture, say so before you sit down.

9. 09

   Liability

   Permanent jewelry is a voluntary cosmetic service. Melinda is not responsible for damage from snagging, improper care, or metal sensitivities. By sitting down for a weld, you agree to release Melinda V Jewelry from liability related to applying or removing a piece.
